This recording was made on 28/11/2020, at 12:45 pm, on the side of a hill that overlooks the town of Andover, Hampshire.

Nothing extraordinary happens in this recording. A variety of bird sounds; infrequent vehicles; children playing in a playpark; people occasionally passing by with or without dogs; distant dogs barking; the constant, droning backdrop of the A303 trunk road that swings around the south of the town, etc.

Then there are the seemingly infinite inaudible sounds, the imagined sounds - the sounds from within the town itself. Traffic from around the town centre; numerous televisions blaring out a variety of programs and advertisements; kettles boiling; kitchen utensils clanging; people talking, etc.

The collective sounds of the everyday from a distance.
